Audio recorder & editor

Record a microphone or import a short clip, edit its waveform and export WAV or MP3 on your device.

A LITTLE ROOM FOR SOUND

Record. Shape. Listen.

Single track · local processing
0.0 / 300 seconds

Import up to 100 MB, five minutes, mono or stereo. Audio is decoded at 48 kHz for editing. Supported input codecs depend on your browser. Live recording is not recoverable until you press Stop.

Duration: 0.000 s0 channel(s) · 48,000 HzWaveform pending

Gain, fades and trimming use the selected range. Fades begin/end at the selection edges. Normalization uses one linked peak gain across the complete clip, preserving stereo balance. WAV/MP3 exports clamp samples above full scale.

Keep the sound

Exports contain the complete edited clip, not just the selection. Download a project to retain editable operations and source audio.

Project files & local recovery

Project files preserve editable work. Image, video and audio exports are final copies. Recovery stays on this device and may be evicted by your browser; keep a downloaded backup.

Local autosave is off. Live recordings are saved only after Stop.

How privacy works

How it works

Record with microphone permission or import a short audio file. Review the waveform, set the selection, trim or remove a range and apply gain, fades or peak normalization. Listen before exporting WAV/MP3, and download a project to preserve the source and edits.

Supported formats

Mono/stereo audio, at most five minutes, 100 MB input and 128 MiB decoded PCM. Browser-decodable WAV, MP3 and other supported audio formats; editing at 48 kHz. 16-bit PCM WAV, 128 kbps MP3 and versioned project exports.

Good to know

One track; no multitrack mixing, transcription, denoising or animation synchronization. Input codecs and microphone permission depend on the browser. WAV/MP3 export the complete edited clip and clamp over-full-scale samples. Live recordings are recoverable only after stopping.

Worked example

Before

A two-second 440/660 Hz sample, trimmed to its first second and normalized

After

A one-second waveform with a linked peak of −1 dBFS, ready for WAV or MP3 export

Trim keeps the selected range; Remove selection joins the surrounding audio. Normalization applies the same gain to both channels, preserving stereo balance.

Listen before flattening an edit

Source audio and edit operations remain separate inside the project. Undo is session-only. A WAV/MP3 is a rendered copy; a project retains reversible operations. Enable optional local autosave only if you want the project stored on this browser, and keep downloaded backups for important work.

Troubleshooting

Why is the microphone unavailable or permission denied?

Use HTTPS or localhost in a supported browser, grant microphone access in browser settings and confirm an input device is connected. You can import audio without microphone permission. Cancelling or stopping releases the microphone tracks.

Common questions

Does normalization make every part of the recording equally loud?

No. This is peak normalization to −1 dBFS using a single linked gain. It does not compress dynamics, remove noise or perform loudness matching.

Can I use this without an internet connection?

Yes, after you prepare this tool from Offline help and the browser retains its assets. Installation is optional. All processing dependencies are bundled locally.
